Basketweave interlocks across as well as down. That does two things. It puts texture into a plain colour, which is why this navy has movement in it rather than sitting as a flat block. It gives the fabric more body than a jersey of the same weight, so the sweater holds a shoulder line instead of collapsing on the hanger. Knitted in Italy from 100% extra fine wool, ribbed at the neck, cuffs
